Meg - Yoga Instructor

Discovering the benefits of yoga was one of those real 'light bulb' moments! In 2012 I was living in Sydney and working in an incredibly stressful event management job. In a bid to calm myself down I started to go to yoga classes near my office. After one particular session, I felt a profound shift. I had entered the studio a stressed-out nervous wreck and I floated out feeling calm, the tension had dissolved from my shoulders, and a new sense of clarity and perspective emerged. That was it - I was hooked. I now share my practice with a beautiful community of people in Sussex.

On retreats I teach flowing Vinyasa classes designed to strengthen and tone, and calming Restorative Yoga with meditation perfect to ease ourselves into the best nights sleep. My passion is helping you to not only move and feel good in your body, but also to help you reflect on your life and guide you through practices to fall in love with yourself.

Having been very physically active my whole life with a very go-go attitude, my (wise) mum told me at 17 when I was suffering from anxiety and panic attacks that I need to learn how to breathe. A few years later of travelling the world and being far too busy to breathe I found yoga. I knew straight away that I had found something special, I got a strong desire to share this amazing practice and help more people breathe and move their bodies in ways releases mental and physical strain and stress rather than adding to it.

I, therefore, quickly started to specialise in teaching a holistic and mindful, gentle style of yoga. Every single movement is meant to feel good. My gentle style means I love teaching beginners, anyone experiencing anxiety and stress, it is also well-suited for anyone with physical injuries or difficulties such as profound stiffness or muscle weakness. I mainly teach private and smaller group classes where the aim is to have fun and to feel better than when we started. This is achieved by fully understanding the body, the poses and the breath, and how these beautifully weave together, creating movements that act as a tonic or balancing act to everyday life.

I've also studied small uni courses in anatomy, psychology, neuroscience and philosophy which is so interesting I could talk for days about it. This means you are more than likely to hear quite a few nuggets of things I've just read. My hope is that this will help you to gain a clearer picture of how to live a life that you are happy with, in a body that you are happy with.
